Mohd Noor Mat Amin 

started as a photographer in the Utusan media group

 in September 1993 and is the 3rd child of 8 children,

 born in 1967 and brought up in Terengganu.

 

He received his early primary education at Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Bukit Guntung, Kuala Terengganu in 1974 before ending his Form 5 secondary education at Sekolah Menengah Tengku Mizan Zainal Abidin, Kuala Terengganu.

 

Photography has always fascinated him since he was in school and       he ended up as a part time photographer with Berita Harian in 1986 and is currently a member of the Terengganu Photography Association. Mohd Noor also enrolled himself at the Youth Training Centre in Peretak, Kuala Kubu Bharu, to further enriched skills of photography on a higher level and upon completion, he worked with Berita Harian, Bernama

and finally the Utusan media group in 1993.

 

Mohd Noor began his relationship with the world of outdoor adventure when he first joined his school’s Boys’ Scout and to date, he even went for a jungle survival course     in 1994 organized by UBAT (Utan Bara Adventure Team) in the Ulu Cheh jungles of Perak, 4 Wheel Drive excursions in Genting Kijal (1994), 1st Asian Cross Country 4WD Rally Malaysia-Thailand-Laos (1995) and JAMBOREE 4WD (1995).

 

As part of the Malaysia-Everest ’97 Project team, he also went for several snow capped mountain treks in the Himalayas, Khullu-Manali in Northern India (1996), Pre-Everest expedition of Mount Chaukhamba II in Northern India 1996) and finally the successful Mount Everest peak in 1997.
